AIRA Virtual Corporate ESG & Sustainability Chapter

Webinar | Modern Slavery

Måns Carlsson, OAM | Head of ESG from Ausbil Investment Management Limited spoke at AIRA's Virtual Corporate ESG & Sustainability Chapter on12 March 2024.

The webinar covered how Investors are increasingly integrating modern slavery considerations into their investment decisions. Modern slavery, including forced labour and human trafficking, poses significant ethical and financial risks. Regulatory mandates, like Australia's Modern Slavery Act 2018, require companies to disclose their modern slavery risks and mitigation efforts. Investors use this data to mitigate risks in their portfolios, safeguarding against legal, reputational, and operational hazards. This trend underscores a shift towards responsible investing, balancing ethical considerations with financial returns, and promoting human rights and ethical business practices globally.
