The winners of the 2014 Australasian Investor Relations Awards were announced last night at the Annual AIRA Best Practice Investor Relations Awards & Gala Dinner.

The Australasian Investor Relations Awards recognise listed entities that have excelled in Investor Relations over the year. Winners are determined based on voting from domestic and international equities analysts and fund managers.

The Australasian Investor Relations Association announced its Fellows at its annual Best Practice Investor Relations Awards & Gala dinner in Sydney on Thursday night.

The Australasian Investor Relations Association (AIRA) today urged listed entities to be more proactive in informing investors about their market briefings in order to comply with new best practice guidelines and also to lead by example.

AIRA, the industry association for investor relations professionals, used the release of its updated Best Practice Investor Relations guidelines to call on companies to lift the bar in communicating important information to their shareholders.

The Australasian Investor Relations Association (AIRA) released its annual study on the remuneration and responsibilities of investor relations practitioners in Australia and New Zealand listed entities.

Commenting on the 2014 study, AIRA Chief Executive, Ian Matheson stated that: "Remuneration levels for investor relations practitioners remained healthy. The median remuneration range was in the $225,000 - $275,000 band, with IR remuneration in top ASX 50 companies falling within the $325,000 - $375,000 band. Four sectors - energy, financials, industrials and materials - led the way in paying more for IR practitioners."

Guest-of-honour and keynote speaker, John Price, Commissioner (Issuers), ASIC made a presentation to AIRA members at the AIRA Annual Sydney Cocktail Party on a range of current ASIC issues and initiatives, including a discussion on handling, disclosing and protecting confidential, market-sensitive information and key learnings for Australasian IR professionals from the ASIC Report 393 investigation findings and recommendations and the Newcrest inquiry, with a particular focus on analyst and institutional investor briefings and handling information prior to announcements of market-sensitive corporate transactions.

The Australasian Investor Relations Association (AIRA) this week released snap poll results on Blackout Periods and Monitoring Market Consensus. The two key findings of the survey showed 80% of respondents have a blackout, the most common period is from period end to the release of results. The Australasian Investor Relations Association (AIRA) today released its annual study on the remuneration and responsibilities of investor relations practitioners in Australasian listed entities. 2013 results showed changes related to bonus payments and the industry sectors paying more than the median range. AIRA and Rivel Research Group announced today it will launch the Intelligence Council (IC) in Australia and New Zealand beginning October 2011. Since its inception in 2009, Rivel’s Intelligence Council has been the only program of its kind to involve the perspective of the buy-side in the discussion of what is best-in-class investor relations. While the Intelligence Council was formed with a focus solely on the United States buy-side community, Rivel recently introduced a global perspective to the program by incorporating the buy-sides of Europe, Canada, Asia and Australia, giving its members a more balanced, international view on investor relations best practices.
