This online, step-by-step learning program allows you to work through at your own pace. It acts as a kind of mentor to encourage you to gain essential knowledge of business writing and grammar. With useful study notes, quizzes and stories, you will always feel we'll ensure it's not dry and boring!

Delivered through two different modules:

Business Writing takes you through five steps that apply to every kind of writing you do, and then helps you to apply them. There are 10 modules which we will send you over 10 weeks. You assess your own skills at the beginning and end to see how much you have applied.

Business Grammar covers the foundation knowledge you need to write confidently and consistently. You can choose to access the nine modules once a week, like Business Writing, or just use them as you need them to refresh your grammar knowledge and spelling.

Each module gives you step-by-step resources, knowledge sharing (via our monthly newsletter, LinkedIn and Twitter profiles) and online support.

About the Course Facilitators:


Greg, with a BA (ANU) and MBA (Macquarie) has 20+ years experience as a communications executive and an external adviser to business and government. He was Communications Director with two large government business enterprises. Today, his consulting clients include many blue chip organisations.

Greg teaches communication person-to-person for senior executives, as a counsel and coach. He’s great at communication planning and strategy, and the translation of this into clear, effective speaking and writing across all media. Greg has managed complex, high-stakes issues with internal and external stakeholders and interest groups. He is an occasional lecturer at the University of Newcastle.



Patricia, with a BA (Hons), DipEd (Syd) and PhD (UNSW), has combined research and practice in communication throughout a career of 30+ years. This includes being a high school English teacher and then education lecturer in English Curriculum. As Fulbright Scholar, Head of Research for ABC Television and Professor of Communication, Patricia has researched children and television and telephone users and consulted with governments and businesses to engage communities online. She is author of The Lively Audience (as Patricia Palmer).
