The Investor Relations and Communications  Manager is responsible for proactively developing, implementing and managing the strategic integration of finance, communications, marketing and securities law compliance to enable the most effective two-way communication between MDI and the investor community.  The role will support MDI communications and Investor Relations strategy, managing communication, support releasing information, handling inquiries and meetings on behalf of and in conjunction with the CEO and Board.


  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive strategic plan for investor relations that helps ensure a sustainable, fair valuation of the company and understanding of the company's global strategy
  • Manage the dissemination of financial, strategic and legal information to stakeholders including existing and potential institutional and retail investors, financial analysts, stockbrokers & regulatory bodies
  • Work as part of a multi-functional team focused on building a comprehensive investor relations and corporate affairs function
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation and support the development and communication of MDI messaging externally
  • Creating, in consultation with the CEO and CFO, key messages for inclusion in financial briefing materials, Annual General Meeting, Annual Report and Half Year Report
  • Maintain close relationships with key investors and analysts with a view to forming a high quality shareholder base to enhance the company’s prospects for long term access to diversified and low risk sources of capital
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the business and understanding of regulations in order to prepare external responses
  • Assist in the preparation and development of investor and corporate-orientated materials, including earnings releases, conference call scripts, fact sheets, corporate and IR website updates, investor presentations, Q&A, talking points and other associated materials
  • Monitor, analyse, and summarise analyst models and notes to understand investment community expectations and key assumptions
  • Research and monitor competitor, regulatory, and broader external environment to understand potential impact
  • Support the coordination and maintenance of the corporate communications calendar including, manage / lead the company's external IR including investor days, roadshows, conferences, and investor meetings and calls and other non-IR based external communications
  • Assist with preparation of Investor Relations content for Board reporting and meetings
  • Collaborate with the CEO, CFO, General Counsel and Company Secretary regarding the Company’s continuous disclosure obligations in accordance with the continuous disclosure principles set by the ASX
  • Manage updates and improvements to the MDI corporate website
  • Other ad-hoc projects will be scoped as part of this role


•    Finance related degree
•    Chartered Financial Analyst or Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance or equivalent
•    CPA or CA preferred
•    Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in an investor relations, corporate communications or equity research role


•    Excellent written and verbal communications skills
•    Foundation of financial acumen, including corporate finance, capital markets, business analytics
•    Ability to take a strategic approach to communications and judge timing, level of detail and tone needed to ensure a well-balanced message
•    Solid understanding of finance and accounting
•    A clear understanding of relevant ASX listing rules and Practice Principles
•    A clear understanding of financial modelling techniques used in company valuations
•    An in-depth understanding of financial and investment markets with established relationships and ability to easily establish new relationships
•    Demonstrated abilities to execute on plans
•    Ability to work with complex and sensitive information under pressure
•    Ability to build coalitions, act with tact and integrity, and interface with a variety of individuals in a positive and productive manner
•    High level of intellectual curiosity and strong desire to play an active role in broader business initiatives
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
