About the Role

  • Building a dedicated Investor Relations practice in Australia, working alongside Investor Relations leads in Asia Pacific and North America, in particular
  • Providing and overseeing expert advice and execution to existing and new clients on all aspects of investor relations with an emphasis on global best practice
  • Developing and maintaining business relationships with Teneo clients and key external stakeholders
  • Working collaboratively with Teneo colleagues in Australia and in global markets across all disciplines to provide a seamless and integrated offer to clients
  • Serving as a Teneo ambassador and continuing to build Teneo’s brand in Australia and internationally

The Successful Managing Director, Investor Relations, Candidate will:

  • Have deep expertise and experience in capital markets and/or investor relations in Australia and preferably significant exposure to international markets
  • Be recognised as an expert in their field and have a track record of advising Boards and senior leadership, managing a leading Investor Relations team, and having a network of relevant, professional relationships in the investor community
  • Have experience in ethical investing, ESG and AGM stakeholder management
  • Have established long-term senior level client / internal relationships
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field and be committed to ongoing education

Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 15 years’ professional experience in Investor Relations/Capital Markets
  • Corporate in-house experience in a senior IR role with ASX listed company
  • Experience advising senior management and Boards
  • Exposure to IR related crises and issues involving shareholders
  • ESG investor policy, ethical investor engagement and relevant stakeholder engagement in wider proxy community
  • Commercial acumen and ability to manage budgets
  • Strong networks in the corporate sector, capital markets & financial mediators
  • Advanced time management and organisational ability
  • Willingness to work in an entrepreneurial environment and small team
